Pepi is said to have lived for about a hundred years, and spent 94 of them being the pharoah of Egypt. His reign is said to have lasted from 2278 to 2184 BCE. This statue of him on the lap of his mother shows him already wearing the headgear of the pharaoh.

So I watch the artoftheday community and I came to randomly check out your journal, because I like meeting new people who love art history. And I saw you live in Pittsburgh! So do I... I live in Cheswick, which is right next to the Pittsburgh Mills mall, to give you a sense (since it's a small town and all) :D

So I just wanted to say hi and wave at a fellow Pittsburgh art history lover.

I'm just curious (and you don't have to answer, since, I don't really know you and everything), are you a student? Or a teacher? A few of your posts talk about classes, so I was just wondering which school around here you attend or work at.

I am a Pittsburgher, yes. I teach at one of the local colleges (would rather not say which on a public entry) but will also be continuing my phD in the fall as well.

and hi! you haven't scared me off yet. I like meeting new people too!
which reminds me, its time to schedule another group museum trip!

Awesome! I just finished my undergrad for studio arts and art history... I've been strongly considering going to graduate school for art history. I have been looking at Pitt's doctoral program, which sounds really exciting... I need to find more schools that have MA programs to apply to, though. That's the problem, lol, it's just difficult trying to find schools!

Anyhow, nice to meet you! Do you mind if I friend you? You post art, which is cool.... I generally post nonsense, but you are free to friend me back. :)
