Throughout the day today, I will post some paintings. Some people expressed dissapointment that I had never gotten around to them, so I will try to finish out my f-list for the next couple weeks.

This is a painting called Water #9 by Lee Krasner, the wife of Jackson Pollock.

It's the Union of Earth and Water by Rubens from the mid 1600's. I think it's just fabulously luscious.

It is *amazing*. Ed Harris gives a truly uncanny performance. And Marcia Gay Harden plays Lee, also amazing.

Have you ever seen the footage of Pollock painting? They recreate that, but not in a shoddy or weird way, but in a really impressive, inspired way. it's like watching a real fevered artist at work. It's long and slow, but a must see in my book.
