Hehehe, Tennant was awesome in that scene. I was even more amused when I found out that the actress who plays Madame de Pompadour is his girlfriend (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sophia_Myles#Personal_life). She doesn't look quite like the portrait, but the casting in-joke was too perfect.
